im veri happi todae.. gary answered my qns. hmm.. i sent him e qns on mondae and by wezdae i was thinking..hmmm.. he's not going to ans it. well... i gt a surprise todae! he answered my qns =) . maybe i juz share wif u lah. i asked 2 qns. first one, is it better to study fr guidebooks or txbooks? if we were to use txbks.. some info may be wrong n e introduction usually contains alot of craps. and if were to use guidebooks.. we can save time becoz speed reading is not needed as guidebks contains all neccessary info or key point. the 2nd qns is abt goal setting. if u rmb abt the course.. they ask us to set realistic and achievble goals on the second dae. but on e third day... they ask us to aim for 7 As one for Os Level. To mi tt's quite impossible.. i noe myself n 1 subject u wld agree wif mi tt's impossible to score A1 in my sch ish eng. So how should i set my targets.. realistic n achievable or 7As? his reply:

I would say that I agree with you that guide books do give you a better overview as compared to a textbook as they only pack the key facts.However as compared to your teacher's notes, guide books are quite far off. So, I would use your teacher's notes to mind map and then substantiate any missing facts with the guide book.
With regards to the goal question, I would say pick the second option because if you set your goal as 7As rather than 5As, do you think you will study much harder to achieve better results?Let me give you a scenario. If you had to take a test and this test required you to score 100% or nothing, I think you would study like crazy. If you another test and the minimum requirement was 50%, chances are that your mind will tell you to relax on it as it can allow room for error. Once it gets set into this motion, the result could actually endup lower than 50%.
